Since 1972, Elaine Knoll worked exclusively in ink. Not long after she started, though, the demand for color in her drawings grew.  So, Elaine began adding color with pastel.  As time passed, her ink drawings became much more detailed and she became discontent with pastel color.  To remedy this, Elaine took water color classes and learned how to handle water color.  Elaine now takes her Pen & Ink drawings and adds water color to them.

In an example of Elaine's work, the Ink Original is reproduced by the method of "Off Set Lithography".  Each Black & White print is then individually hand painted by Elaine.  It is this procedure that is identified as "Hand Water Colored".  Hand water colored prints will vary, one from another, and by season, if desired, as in the example below.  "The Wayside Mill" can be painted in either autumn  or summer.  When ordering you should specify which print and season (autumn or summer) your purchasing.

You can order Color or Black and White prints.  The prices and sizes and options are listed with each picture we have listed.  Please also note, in the near future, and as time goes on, we will be listing more prints, as well as some of our original art work.
